Shine Therapies – Where Real Life Meets Real Progress

At Shine Therapies, we help school-age kids and teens build the skills they need to shine at home, at school, and everywhere in between. We use occupational therapy that feels like play (because it is!), but it’s packed with purpose.

Here’s how we help:

  • Play-based therapy – Because kids do their best work when they’re having fun. We sneak in the hard stuff through games and play.

  • Sensory integration – Helping kids feel calm, in control, and better able to handle the busy world around them.

  • Fine & gross motor skills – We work on things like handwriting, coordination, balance, and building strong little bodies.

  • Interactive Metronome (IM) – A fun, rhythm-based therapy that improves attention, timing, and self-regulation. Kids clap, tap, or move to a beat, building focus and emotional control as they go. Great for ADHD and kids who need help "tuning in."

  • Life skills training – We practice real-life tasks like brushing teeth, getting dressed, and helping out around the house.

  • Social skills support – We help kids connect, communicate, and feel more confident in friendships and group settings.

  • Parent coaching – We believe YOU are the most important part of your child’s team. We’ll show you strategies that actually work at home.

    • Starting this summer! Parent support groups – Because raising a neurodivergent or emotionally intense child can feel isolating. These weekly virtual meetups offer encouragement, practical tools, and a judgment-free zone to vent, laugh, or cry (sometimes all at once).

  • Handwriting courses – Playful, multi-sensory classes that help kids master letters, improve pencil grasp, and actually enjoy writing. No worksheets-only zone here!

We support kids with ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive, or both), and kids who struggle with focus, big feelings, anxious thoughts, social discomfort, or emotional outbursts even if there’s no official diagnosis. Executive dysfunction comes in many forms, and we see the whole child behind the challenges.

And the space? Oh, it's not your average clinic. One side looks like a real house complete with a bedroom, kitchen, laundry, and bathroom so we can practice real-life routines. The other side? A fun therapy gym and a fully vented art room where creativity and movement collide.

We're nestled in the Boise Bench and proud to be a part of this community. We partner with families to build understanding, confidence, and independence so your child can shine their brightest.

Shine Where You Shine Brightest

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is all about helping kids do the things they need and want to do—whether that’s getting dressed, focusing in school, handling big emotions, or making it through a bedtime routine without a meltdown.

From the moment your child wakes up, they’re juggling a hundred little tasks—getting ready, managing feelings, sitting still, following directions, making friends, staying organized (where did that shoe go?). For some kids, these everyday things feel anything but “everyday.”

That’s where OT comes in.

We use a mix of sensory tools, movement, hands-on experiences, and confidence-building strategies to help your child grow the skills they need to be more independent, more regulated, and more empowered.

It’s real-life help for real-life struggles—wrapped in play and purpose.
